My name is Katie-Beth, and I am a 24-year-old case manager with the Department of Children’s Services. When I was in high school, I was active in softball, cheerleading, and went to the gym multiple times a week.

I went to college and went through spurts where I would go to the gym for a few months, not go for a few months. Attending school from 8-3 and working 4-11 each day, didn’t leave a lot of time for healthy meal prepping and exercise.

Once I graduated from college, I moved away from home to gain more experience with my degree in criminal justice. I was working from 6 a.m. to either 6 p.m. or 10 p.m. That in addition to the hour and fifteen minute drive one way and being a full-time grad student did not leave time for healthy cooking or exercise. I went from being a size 2/4 in high school to a size 12/14.

The turning point in my life was when I never wanted to leave my house on my free time.

My fiancé would want to go out to eat, go to the movies, ect., but I never wanted to do anything because I dreaded the nervous breakdown that would follow me trying to find a cute outfit to wear.Even though I know my fiancé meant well, the constant encouragement of “how beautiful I was” was hard to believe ESPECIALLY with them having the “perfect” body.

Instead of dressing up, I always wore sweatpants and tshirts to hide my weight gain. I would tell people it was because “I wanted to be comfortable,” but I knew it was because my pants wouldn’t button, and my shirts wouldn’t fit. I hid my unhappiness with humor.

I was completely disgusted with myself after looking at older pictures when I was most fit. On November 15, 2015 I decided I had to do something. I was unhappy, insecure, and completely astonished at how I had let myself get to this point in my life. On that day, I weighed myself, calculated my BMI, and measured my waist.

Because I am “fun-sized”, being 5’2 and weighing 183 with a waist circumference of 42 is beyond unhealthy.

I had learned about BiteSizedFitness from my college friend and past workout partner. I was so excited I finally had a routine to go by! I started going to the gym a few days a week and within a month, I had lost 15 lbs and 3 inches off my waist.

All it took was seeing the results, and I was hooked!

I love being a part of the #BiteSizedArmy because of the detailed workout plans. Without them, I would still be doing the elliptical and expected results. I have been able to notice cuts in my arms, legs, and toning in my stomach.

The night before I work out, I always look up the exercise and make sure I am maximizing results. I look at the Instagram page frequently for new meal ideas, exercises, and encouragement.

I appreciate BiteSizedFitness for being so interactive with followers. Whether it is a card or a reply to an email, knowing someone just as busy as I am has the time to inspire others to continue on their journey is a complete blessing. I am proud to say BiteSizedFitness changed my life!

I never thought outward appearance could affect the way you feel about yourself but after being depressed for years, I am happy to say I have more confidence than ever and cannot wait to see the 24 week result!
